Two M3 Bradley's in the Persian Gulf

The M3 Bradley is a cavalry fighting vehicle being used by the United States Army. It's the Cavalry version of the M2 Bradley, which shares the family of Bradley Fighting Vehicles. Like the M2, the M3 is a well-armed and well-protected armored fighting vehicle (AFV), and is one of the most powerful cavalry vehicles in the U.S. Armed Forces. Like the M2 replacing the M113 as the U.S. Army's armored infantry carrier, the M3 begins to replace some vehicles for such roles as reconnaissance. One of the vehicles being replaced by the M3 for these roles is the M551 Sheridan light tank.

About[]

The M3 Bradley entered service with the U.S. Army's heavy armored cavalry units in 1981. The Bradley family was originally intended to support the M113 armored personal carrier, but ended up replacing it all together. They're also used to accompany the M1 Abrams main battle tank series and often infantry squads into combat. The M3 Bradley is classified as an armored reconnaissance and scout vehicle, and does away with the machine gun firing ports the M2 has. The M3 also carries more ammunition for its 25mm chain gun and 7.62mm MG, and more TOW missiles.

World War III[]

When World War III begins in 1987, the M3 Bradley will be called by the United States cavalry divisions. It'll serve the Army well.
